Antique Wrought Iron Letter Openers
Item #LO1
Price: $125.00 (tax and shipping included) *This is for letter opener only, sheaths are sold separately.
Hand forged from pre-Civil War wrought iron bars from a jail built in Petersburg, VA in 1854 . The standard letter opener is 9-10 inches long (approximately 4 1/2-5" blade and 4 1/2-5" handle). Since they are forged and made by hand, each letter opener is one-of-a-kind and will vary from one another and from the images you see here.
*PLEASE NOTE: Wrought iron is prone to rust, so some maintenance may be required (ie, occasional application of a rust preventative or wax). See “Maintenance and Care” under “Policies” in blue banner at top of page.
These can be engraved, but the customer/purchaser will need to arrange through an outside source (jewelry store or engraving service). Not done in house.
*Custom letter openers are available. Prices wii vary depending on design and materials used.
